I make small numbers of pens, and the interesting materials tend to go quickly. This is how you hear about them first.

Every pen I make is turned by hand from a material with a traceable history — a timber with a felling site, a piece of fordite off a named factory line. Every pen has a postcode. When a batch of something unusual turns up, there’s often only enough for a handful of pens, and once they’re gone that’s the end of it.
