Privacy

I’m one person making pens. I collect the minimum I need to sell you one and to talk to you about it, and I don’t sell or share it with anybody for marketing.

What I collect, and why

WhatWhenWhy
Name, email, phoneConfigurator enquiries and direct emailsTo quote for your pen and keep you posted
Delivery addressWhen you buyTo post the pen to you
Your pen specificationConfiguratorTo make the right thing, and to remember what I made if you come back
Order and payment recordWhen you buyLegally required accounting records

I never see your card details. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, who process it as a separate data controller under their own privacy policy. Nothing sensitive touches this website.

How long I keep it

  • Order and payment records: six years, which HMRC requires.
  • Enquiries that don’t become orders: two years, then deleted.
  • Commission notes and specifications: kept while you’re a customer, so I can service or match a pen years later. Ask and I’ll delete them.

Legal basis

For orders, performing a contract with you. For enquiries, your consent, which you can withdraw whenever you like. For accounting records, legal obligation.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask me for a copy of what I hold, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how I’m using it. Email Mike@ardenpenco.co.uk and I’ll deal with it within a month. If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Who I am, for the record

Mike Stephenson, trading as Arden Pen Co, 64 Pickford Green Lane, Allesley, Coventry CV5 9AQ. I’m the data controller for anything described above.
