Arden Pen Co / Materials / Jerusalem olive
Material
Jerusalem olive Bethlehem, Holy Land
Pruned from groves that have been worked for centuries, with a wild interlocking grain and a warm gold that darkens as you handle it. Nothing turns quite like it.
The story
These very rare olive wood blanks are produced from the trimmings of the olive trees in the Holy Land. An essential process for a healthier growth for the trees and to generate environmental stability. No Tree is damaged or destroyed in the process of harvesting this wood.
On the lathe
Fantastic wood to turn and the smell is wonderful - takes a finish really well and I often use linseed oil or friction polish.

Build the spec, and I’ll quote it
Pick the pen, the fittings, the plating and the material — including your own timber if you’ve got something with meaning to it. Takes about two minutes, and there’s no obligation at the end of it.
